Where the numbers come from
| What | Source | Read on |
|---|---|---|
| Sidewall, height, circumference, revs | The ISO metric code itself | calculated |
| Which sizes exist | Manufacturer ranges, checked against filings | calculated |
| Complaints, crashes, injuries, deaths | NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation | 2026-09-26 |
The safety figures are public domain, filed with the US government since 1995: 3,163 injuries and 736 deaths across 537 sizes. Refreshed monthly. The dimensions do not move.
How a size is worked out
235/75R15 carries everything needed. The sidewall is 75% of 235 mm, so 176 mm. The whole wheel is two sidewalls plus the rim: 2 × 176 + 15 × 25.4 = 733.5 mm. Circumference follows, and revolutions per mile from that. Nothing is looked up, which is why every drawing here is to scale.
1,689 sizes for cars, SUVs and pickups, plus 101 commercial sizes on half-inch rims. Combinations nobody manufactures are left out — a 155 does not come in a 25 series. Motorcycle tires use their own notations and a rounded profile, so they are not here.
What this site is not
It sells nothing and it is not a retailer. A complaint filed with a regulator is one driver's account, not a finding of fault against a manufacturer. If a tire is going on a car you drive, the sidewall and the door placard are what count, not a web page.
